During this season of Advent, we continue to prepare for Jesus' coming. As part of this preparation, we are reflecting on those who have made a difference in our lives through their care, support, and prayers. The Community of St. Bartholomew continues to be an important part of John Paul II Academy and for this, we are most grateful. Our Christmas wish to you is to remember that Jesus is the gift we all receive at Christmas. May His spirit fill your hearts with love. The faculty, staff, and students of JPIIA wish all of you a joyous and peace-filled Christmas.

December 16 through 24, 7:00 pm in Barth Hall All are welcome! Las Posadas, (Spanish: “The Inns”) religious festival celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States between December 16 and 24. Las Posadas commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus.
We would like to thank everyone for their generous gifts to the giving tree for Sister Visitor. Trunk loads full of toys have been donated. Thanks to you, there will be many happy children on Christmas morning who might otherwise not get a visit from Santa.
Congratulations to Fr. Roy who will celebrate 55 years in the priesthood on Tuesday, December 18. Thank you, Fr. Roy for all that you do for us and all of the knowledge and history you share!

Thank you to all those who participated in the American Red Cross Blood Drive here at St. Bartholomew on December 3. We had 24 people who came to give blood and 21 successful donations. We sincerely appreciated all the donors, helpers, callers and all who helped in any way. Together, we have helped to give the gift of LIFE! If you were unable to donate here, please remember the Holiday Donorama which is held every year during the Holidays or call the American Red Cross for the next nearest blood Drive. Our blood supply is especially critical during the Holidays. Thank you no matter the part you played, it was important!
Thank you to everyone who brought in items for the gift bags for the residents of the St. Bartholomew Senior apartments. The gift bags were a hit. It’s always fun to get a bag of “surprises” during the holidays.
The collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious will be held in our parish next weekend. Many senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests served for years with little or no pay. Today religious communities often do not have enough savings to meet retirement needs. Your support of next weekend’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious provides medications, nursing care, and more. Please give to those who have given a lifetime.
