On Sunday, November 8, at 2:00 pm, the parishes of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Raphael invite our parishioners, along with other parishes, for a solemn time of prayer and a Eucharistic Procession for Peace and Justice. The procession will begin at St. Raphael and go throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. As you know, we also celebrate National Black Catholic Month. Archbishop Kurtz will join us as we pray for our city, nation, and world. We bring “Christ to the Streets”, to bless us for the journey of change and to praise and witness to our love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

Please pray for Bobby Selch! Bobby and his family are long time members of the St. Bartholomew community. Bobby has served the parish in many roles as one of the Fish Fry chairs, coaches, usher, and countless other jobs.
As of now, per guidance from the Archbishop, there will still be Masses this weekend. We will also have the Fish Fry as usual. In both cases, people (especially older folks) should not feel obliged to be present. In the case of the Mass, the “Sunday obligation” has been lifted.
The Archdiocese of Louisville Family Ministries Office will host the monthly Adoptive-Foster Care Support Meeting on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Holy Family Parish 3926 Poplar Level Road, 40213, (Riede Room in Gym Building) 6:30PM - 8:00PM. Our meetings include Professional Foster/Adoptive Expert from Orphan Care Alliance talk combined with group sharing with parents of foster, domestic, and internationally adopted children. Sunday, February 16, 10:30 AM Cathedral of the Assumption Undercroft 433 South 5th Street Free – Open to the Public A native of New Albany, Joseph Elmer Ritter became one of the most influential Roman Catholic Clergymen of the 20th century as Bishop/Archbishop of Indianapolis and later as Archbishop/Cardinal of St. Louis. He was an advocate of civil rights and social justice, speaking vehemently against the Ku Klux Klan, and he worked to integrate Catholic schools in Indianapolis in the 1930s and St. Louis in the 1940s. Come learn more on Sunday, February 16 after the 9:30 Mass in the Undercroft. Our presenter is Greg Sekula, Director of the Southern Regional Office of Indiana Landmarks, a statewide non-profit historic preservation organization. He holds a degree in Historic Preservation from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and is a past Fellow of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He served on the Board of Directors of the Cardinal Ritter Birthplace Foundation and has been a member of the Cathedral since 2002.

The Saint Louis Bertrand Parish Rosary Altar Society will hold its annual Dessert Card Party on Saturday, February 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event will be held at Saint Louis Bertrand Parish, 1104 South Sixth Street in O’Brien Hall on the third floor. The fourth annual DeSales High School Men's Retreat will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. We invite DeSales alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends to reconnect with God, their faith and the DeSales community. The retreat, "God Calls us to Conversion, Always!", will be led by Fr. Chuck Walker, pastor of St. Bernard Parish and will include small-group discussion. The retreat will conclude by celebrating Mass, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered to any attendee who wishes to receive it. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. The event will be held at DeSales High School, 425 W. Kenwood Drive.
